Insect Control Strategies
Insects (cockroaches, fleas, bedbugs, ants, gnats, fruit flies) are prodigious breeders and—without aggressive integrated control measures—will multiply out of control in a short span of time. Insect pests spread filth and disease while jeopardizing the good reputation of commercial establishments.
All insect control programs from Pestco include careful insect monitoring along with the prudent application of approved insecticides and insecticide baits.
Pestco technicians are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and specially trained to identify environmental factors that increase the potential for pest infestation. These factors are noted on written Inspection Reports and submitted to our customers along with recommendations for corrective measures.
Rodent Control Strategies
Pestco’s integrated rodent pest control program involves a careful balance of traditional baiting and trapping methods as well as environmental management strategies.
When conditions demand application of rodenticides or placement of rodent traps, the utmost care is taken to ensure the safety of humans, non-target animals and the environment.
In addition, our trained technicians will make sanitation and maintenance recommendations aimed at excluding rodents, eliminating their harborages and food supply. This integrated approach quickly reduces current rodent populations while preventing the potential for future infestations.

Experts believe the recent increase in bed bugs in the United States may be due to more travel, lack of knowledge about preventing infestations, increased resistance of bed bugs to pesticides, and ineffective pest control practices.
The good news is that there are ways to control bed bugs. Getting good, solid information is the first step in both prevention and control. While there is no chemical quick fix, there are effective strategies to control bed bugs involving both non-chemical and chemical methods.
Fly factoids : Did you know?
During warm weather, a fly can produce a family generation in less than two weeks. It has been documented that the fly transmits deadly diseases such as typhoid fever, dysentery, cholera, yaws, anthrax, leprosy and tuberculosis just to name a few.During a fly’s lifetime (usually a 30 day cycle), a female fly will lay anywhere from 400-600 eggs.To eat, a fly vomits on food. This releases saliva, enzymes and digestive juices over the food. The digestive juices help to dissolve the food into a soupy mixture. If a pair of flies mated and all their descendants lived and bred without any losses to predators, then within one summer season there would be a million, million, million, million flies.
